D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera

The #23-ranked player in the nation, D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, told us about his unofficial visit to UCLA, and we also have highlights of his performance in the Los Angeles Nike EYBL...

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, the 6-2 shooting guard from Indiana who will play at Mouth of Wilson (Virg.) Oak Hill this fall, was in Los Angeles for the Nike EYBL Memorial Day weekend.

After playing in the league, he unofficially visited UCLA, and he talked to's Brian Snow about the visit:

Q: How was the visit to UCLA?

A: It was nice. It was a beautiful campus. There were a lot of celebrities around. We saw George Lopez and Christiana Milian. It was nice. Overall it was a great campus.

Q: How did you feel about the distance from home, and is that something that matters in your decision?

A: It was kind of big, and I am not used to the fast life like it is out there, but still at the same time the campus had kind of a homey feel to it. Distance won't play a factor in my decision. I am going to go where is best for me.

Q: Where did this visit put UCLA on your list?

A: They are definitely a place I will make my official to. UCLA has a lot of history behind them and they have always been pretty high on my list.
