Northwestern's all-out blitz of Noah Allen fell short of its desired result.
Allen, a three-star forward, gave his verbal commitment to the UCLA Bruins, he confirmed to PurpleWildcats on Tuesday.
Once a Harvard commit, Allen received strong interest from Northwestern and Washington State in the fall. UCLA entered the mix just recently, extending an offer over a weekend visit.
"It's close to home, there's the [program] tradition, and it will be challenging," Allen explain of his choice.
Allen visited Evanston during the final weekend of October, where he was shown campus by NU players and coaches.
Northwestern's 2013 recruiting class stands at two -- Jaren Sina and Nate Taphorn -- entering the early signing period.
