For the third time this year, Priest Willis had to cancel an official visit. He was scheduled to visit Notre Dame last month and LSU this past weekend but scheduling conflicts arose with both. He was set to see Virginia this weekend but has decided to hold off on any more official visits until after the season.
“I made a decision that it’s just too hard while the season is going on to take a visit,” Willis said. “You play a game and then have to get on a red eye flight across the country and plus it’s expensive for my family to go with me. So right now, I just want to focus on our season with the playoffs already starting up.
“I’m going to re-schedule the LSU and Virginia visits for sure but don’t think I’ll get out to Notre Dame. I already went to Nebraska so I have two more trips left to take but really have no idea where I’ll go for those ones right now.”
Willis plans to take a pair of unofficial visits to Los Angeles later this month.
“I’m going to be at UCLA for their game with USC next weekend,” Willis said. “UCLA is playing great and I’m really close with the coaching staff. The following week I’ll be at USC for the Notre Dame game. I’ve been to USC before but this will be a fun opportunity to catch a game against a big rival.
“These are both unofficial visits. I want to use my official visits on schools that are far away where I can’t just drive to them. I still have some good options so once my season is over, I'll narrow my list and figure things out."
