The University of Oregon announced on Monday morning that redshirt freshman wide receiver Devon Blackmon has informed Head Coach Chip Kelly of his intention to transfer. Blackmon appeared in three games this season but was not credited in any statistical category.

According to a media announcement issued by the University of Oregon Athletic Department, Blackmon is expected to complete fall term but is excused from any further participation with the football program.

“He has been a solid contributor to this football program for the last two seasons and I wish him continued success whatever he decides to pursue,” Kelly said in the prepared statement.

The media release also indicated that Blackmon will have three seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining following his transfer.
