It will be Oregon State's first bowl trip to San Antonio and the third ever matchup between the two teams (1980, 1987.) Oregon State has lost both previous meetings.
Texas (8-4) is ranked No. 23 in the BCS. They are No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches poll, unranked in the AP and No. 20 in the Harris poll.

Texas has one win over a ranked opponent this year, at then No. 18 Texas Tech. They lost to then No. 13 Oklahoma and this past Saturday to No. 6 Kansas State.
