"I got my hands on a lot of balls," Johnson said. "I honestly could have and should have had double digit interceptions this year. I really need to work on that because at the next level, when you have a chance to make a play, you have to make it."
On the recruiting front, Johnson has consistently listed Stanford and UCLA as his co-leaders with Washington very involved as well. It sounds like you can probably remove one of those schools from consideration now.
"I set up my visit to UCLA for (Jan. 18)," Johnson said. "That's their big visit weekend and that's when they wanted me to come in. I really like UCLA a lot right now, I'm not ready to make a decision any time soon but that's my top school for sure.
"UCLA is on the rise, I like their academics, I like the DB coach, Demetrice Martin and the depth chart is nice. They lose both starting corners so there's a chance to come in and play right away. It's going to be a battle, because if they bring in who they want, that's some tough competition right there but that doesn't bother me at all. It's definitely a good all around fit."
As for Stanford?
"I haven't heard from them in over a month," Johnson said. "I was taking two AP classes that they said I needed and doing really well this semester but I guess it wasn't enough, I'm not sure. I guess they didn't want me as much as some other schools so that's fine, I'm moving on.
"I haven't had anyone come in for home visits yet because we're actually in the process of moving. Coach Heyward at Washington wants to come in, he came to the school last week. I'm pushing everything back right now until we get settled in.
