UCLA’S Wanaah Bail GRANTED FULL ELIGIBILITY TO PLAY IN 2013-14
Freshman forward’s NCAA waiver has been approved
Freshman forward Wanaah Bail’s waiver to the NCAA has been approved, and he has been granted full eligibility to play in the 2013-14 basketball season for UCLA.
“We are grateful that this matter has come to a conclusion and are very happy for Wanaah,” head coach Steve Alford said. “I know that Wanaah is excited to get on the floor with his teammates, and we’re all looking forward to him beginning his collegiate career at UCLA this season.”
Bail, a 6-foot-9 forward from Houston, underwent surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee on June 28. He has not yet been cleared to return to practice.
As a high school senior at Lamar Consolidated High School (Rosenberg, Texas), Bail averaged 18.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in 26 contests while securing All-District 23-4A Most Valuable Player acclaim.
UCLA opens its regular season on Friday, Nov. 8, against Drexel in Pauley Pavilion.
