Willie Davis, a 5-foot-9, 223-pound redshirt junior running back, has to decided to transfer from the University of South Florida, a source told USFNation.com on Tuesday.
The Peach State native was productive at times during spring football this year, but had his work cut out for him with Michael Pierre, Darius Tice and Stafon McCray returning, as well as incoming freshman, Marlon Mack and D'Ernest Johnson.
Davis was redshirted when he arrived in Tampa Bay in 2011, but appeared in seven games the following season, picking up just seven yards on two carries.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2013, Davis was third on the team in rushing with 142 yards on 39 carries. The running back received all-state, all-county and MVP honors as a senior at Lithonia (Ga.) Stephenson High School in 2010, after rushing for more than 1,300 yards and 22 touchdowns before arriving in the Sunshine State to play his college football.
Possible landing destinations for Davis are currently unknown.
