SDSU snags Hemsley

San Diego State landed a key target on Thursday evening when Jeremy Hemsley picked the Aztecs.

In his time at San Diego State, Head Coach Steve Fisher has had it working on the recruiting trail. He continued his strong run on Thursday evening when he reeled in another talented prospect in four-star guard Jeremy Hemsley.

Hemsley is one of the top scoring guards on the West Coast, and his athleticism, skill, and 6-foot-4 size helped him become one of the more heavily recruited prospects in the area. Schools such as Gonzaga, New Mexico, Washington, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, and USC were all heavily involved with Hemsley, however he decided on San Diego State.

"Blessed and excited to announce that I am officially committed to San Diego State University," said Hemsley on his twitter account.

The decision had been expected for a few days, and is considered a huge get for the Aztecs. Given Hemsley ability to put the ball in the basket, locking him up before the start of the July evaluation period is a major coup for Fisher and his staff.

After reeling in a very good class in 2014, now the Aztecs are again flexing their muscle in 2015, and are off to an excellent start.

San Diego State assistant coach Justin Hutson was the point man on the Hemsley recruitment.
