Montezuma, Ga.-- Four-star linebacker Roquan Smith had been a frequent visitor to the Plains before his trip over for Auburn's Big Cat Weekend. Already very familiar with the campus and coaching staff, he said this time was about having fun and he accomplished that goal.
"I came for a relaxed day just to see how things went," Smith said. "I enjoyed it. I had a really good time with the pie-eating contest and things like that.
"It was just a great visit," he added. "I felt relaxed. It felt like a great place once again."
One of the reasons he remains high on the Tigers is because of his relationship with the coaches and players on the Plains. That was something he said stood out even more on his Big Cat visit.
"That was great," Smith said of the laid-back weekend. "They weren't talking about a commitment or anything like that. It was just about enjoying yourself, being yourself, and having a great time."
Planning to wait until signing day to make his decision, Smith said at the moment he knows of two official visits (Auburn, UCLA) as he prepares for a busy summer heading into his senior season.
