Big Unofficial Visitor Today

Ryan Newsome

One of UCLA's biggest, out-of-state wide receiver targets will be on campus today with his family for an unofficial visit...

Ryan Newsome, the four-star wide receiver from Aledo (Tex.) High, will unofficially visit UCLA with his family today, according to sources.

The 5-9, 180-pounder is a speed guy, having clocked a 10.51 100 meters during his track season this year.

He also plans to visit USC Tuesday, and could visit Oregon later in the week, but that visit is uncertain.

Newsome has visited nearby Texas previously quite a few times, and has visited Texas Tech. He also has plans to visit Alabama this summer, and potent9ially Tennessee in July.

With Newsome being one of UCLA's top receiver targets, UCLA is apparently rolling out the red carpet for him today.

UCLA Head Coach Jim Mora has personally taken on some of the recruiting responsibility of Newsome, and, according to Newsome, has established a very good relationship with him.

Whenever a big-named prospect from out of state unofficially visits with his family it's a good sign for UCLA, since you'd have to consider the prospect's interest serious if they paid for family members to visit.
