Offer Explosion for Spellman

Omari Spellman

2016 four-star North Royalton (Ohio) power forward Omari Spellman talks about his recent visit to UCLA and where his recruitment stands at the moment...

Class of 2016 prospect Omari Spellman has had a busy week. First he was one of the top performers at the Nike Elite 100 Camp, and now he is performing solidly at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp. With that he is seeing his offer list explode.

"I think I played okay," said Spellman. "I think I can play a lot better. I have high expectations for myself, so I think I have played okay."

He continued, "I have been working on my outside shot, my ball handling, and my post moves. On the offensive end I want to be able to do everything."

Recruiting wise things have been busy in recent days for Spellman who has picked up numerous offers.

"I have visited UCLA, UNLV, Dayton, and Cincinnati," said Spellman. "I have offers from Florida, Indiana, Villanova, Iowa, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, and West Virginia."

The offer from Florida was big for Spellman, and one he definitely took note of.

"Getting an offer from them is big," said Spellman. "It was big time to get an offer from them, and me and my mom were real happy. They have had guys like Joakim Noah and Jon Horford, and just real good big guys."

According to Spellman it was also big to pick up an offer from Indiana.

"It was crazy to get an offer from them," explained Spellman. "Indiana is just such a prestigious school and to get an offer from them was just amazing. They have had players like Cody Zeller and Noah Vonleh, so it was big to hear from them."

When Spellman made his visit to California to see UCLA he also came away impressed with what he saw.

"I visited UCLA and I really liked the campus," said Spellman. "It is very nice out there and I just really liked everything about it."

For now Spellman is in no hurry to make a decision, but he says he has a good idea of what he will be looking for in a school.

"I just want to go to a place where when I go there it feels like home," noted Spellman. Recommended Stories
