Newsome Names Top Five

Ryan Newsome

On Saturday evening, Aledo (Texas) 2015 four-star receiver Ryan Newsome released his top five schools among more than 30 offers.

And then there were five.

Aledo (Texas) 2015 four-star receiver standout Ryan Newsome has racked up offers for the past several months, resulting in a list that includes 32 offers from programs across the country, including Alabama, Baylor, Clemson, Florida State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and USC.

But none of those schools were on the list when the 5-foot-9, 170-pound Newsome released via Twitter his top five at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, calling the schools his "Fab Phive": Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA, and Notre Dame.

Newsome, who has taken unofficial visits to UCLA, USC, and Oregon during the past 10 days, posted monstrous numbers as a junior at Aledo, which won its fourth state championship in five seasons this past fall. Newsome racked up 2,364 all-purpose yards and 28 total touchdowns.

Wherever Newsome goes, there's no doubt the team that gets will use him in multiple facets. He's been a terror as a receiver, running back, and wildcat quarterback for Aledo, not to mention a record-setting return man.

Scout.com ranks Newsome as the nation's No. 24 receiver in the 2015 class and No. 189 in the Scout 300.
