Five-star fond of Notre Dame

Five-star cornerback Iman Marshall of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly has two schools in mind for official visits.

One of the top ranked cornerbacks in the nation, and certainly one of the most talented prospects overall in the class of 2015, Iman Marshall of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly has had Notre Dame on his radar ever since the Irish offered over a year ago.

"It's the tradition that Notre Dame brings to the table," Marshall said. "They are known for their football, but they also provide important connections that will help me with life after football. Those connections and (having a) solid base are very important in life, and they can really help you reach success."

"It's (Notre Dame) a great school that will help me grow as a person. It's all about what's next after football for me."

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound cornerback has laid low this summer as far as college visits are concerned, but soon he'll gear up for The Opening, heading to Oregon on July 7 to compete against the best players in his class. After which, he'll return his attention to official visits.

"I know that Notre Dame will get an official visit," Marshall said. "Michigan probably will, too. I'm not sure of any others right now. Later this summer my family and I will sit down and discuss everything with recruiting."

Marshall doesn't plan to release a list of top schools until he begins to take visits in the fall.

"I am not deciding until National Signing Day, so I will have a list of schools after I see some places, first."

This past spring, Marshall visited nearby USC and UCLA.

"For me, it's about how I fit into the scheme and where I can see myself staying for the next four years because those four years really can define you as a person," Marshall said. "You may even retire near where you went to college one day."

Marshall is a five-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 3 cornerback in the nation by Scout.com for the class of 2015.

"I would call myself a complete back who is very versatile," Marshall said. "I could play press if needed to, and I can switch up my game depending on how the staff needs me to play."
