Davis Earns USC Offer

Dominic Davis

2015 three-star Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany running back Domnic Davis has earned offers from USC and UCLA in recent weeks thanks to his strong spring...

Dominic Davis has game breaking speed and there's a good chance he'll be the fastest player on the field in just about every game he plays in. He had the fastest 40 time at the SoCal NIKE Camp at 4.40 (electronic) and clocked a 10.5-100m this past track season.

His speed translates well to the football field as well and he has the ability to play running back, slot receiver or corner at the next level. He's well past the double digit offer mark and landed another big scholarship from USC at the Trojans Rising Stars Camp.

"I had a great time, it was a great camp," Davis said. "I was working out with the running backs in the first part of the camp, doing a lot of routes out of the backfield. Then the second half of the camp, we did some routes against the linebackers and Coach Sark came over and was coaching me up too.

"After it was over, he invited me come to up to his office and we were just talking. He told me about himself, how he grew up locally out here and coached at Washington before coming back home. Then he told me he was offering a scholarship and I was definitely excited by it."

Davis said USC had been showing him a lot of interest and he was hopeful an offer could be close.

"USC visited me at school and I talk with several coaches there," Davis said. "Coach Tuiasosopo and Coach Nansen are my primary recruiters and I like those guys a lot. This was really the first time I had a chance to talk with Coach Sark and he was real cool too.

"I'm close with Steven Mitchell and his family and talk to them regularly. I'm sure now that I have this offer from USC, I'll be hearing even more from Steven trying to recruit me."

Davis said he has four schools on top of his list and he plans to go through the process before making his decision.

"My top four are Washington, USC, UCLA and Washington State," Davis said. "I was supposed to visit UCLA Wednesday but we had a passing league game. They offered me earlier this month and I still need to get over there and visit with my whole family.

"Washington and Washington State are two schools I want to officially visit. They have recruited me hard for a while now and I really want to get out there and see what the game atmosphere is like. I'm sure everyone thinks I'll stay local but I'm still open right now. I do want to stay in the Pac 12 but I don't have a leader right now."
