Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West 2016 four-star linebacker Caleb Kelly (6-3, 210) is the West's top defensive prospect in his class and has 13 offers from all over the country.

Kelly has offers from Oklahoma, Alabama, California, USC, UCLA, Fresno State, Notre Dame, Oregon State, Washington State, Arizona, Arizona State, Miami and Florida.

In the last couple of weeks, Kelly has visited Cal, camped with Stanford UCLA and did a 7v7 tournament at USC.

"It was a busy week but it was a lot of fun," said Kelly.

The only individual camp that Kelly did was in Westwood.

"The UCLA camp went really well," said Kelly. "I really liked working with Coach (Jeff) Ulbrich. I really like him and he's a really cool coach. I got to meet Coach (Jim) Mora and he said he had heard a lot about me and was really excited about me. Coach Mora said I was very athletic and did a good job and to just keep up the good work."

Kelly also liked what he saw from the UCLA campus.

"It's a really nice campus and there is one spot in the middle of campus that you could see everything and I liked how you could see it all. It was real pretty."

Kelly was at USC a few days before for their 7v7 tournament.

"We went with DB Guru and we finished fourth, but we should have played better," said Kelly. "It was nice though, getting to see and meet the coaches. USC is a really nice campus with a lot of brick buildings and I really liked their facilities."

Kelly visited Cal on Saturday.

"I had seen the facilities before when I had gone there, but this was my first time really seeing the campus and it was really nice and a big campus. I had gone up there with a friend and we checked it out and toured it and I liked it a lot."

Kelly also camped at Stanford and said the Cardinal have him on their watch list.

"I went up to Stanford two weeks ago and they said that they do things a little slower there with offers, but that they really like me a lot and will recruit me," said Kelly.

Kelly said with 19 months until he can make sign anywhere, there isn't a reason to rush things.

"It's still too early," said Kelly. "I haven't been able to check out but a few colleges anyway, so I have to check out everyone else before I start making decisions like that. Going into my senior year, around September (of 2015), I'll come out with a top five. Right now, I'm just taking in the process."

Kelly said that this spring and summer's 7v7 circuit has been crucial for him.

"The pass-rush was always my go-to thing and I have always been able to do that," said Kelly. "But I've learned a lot about pass defense playing 7v7 and it's helped me to be a complete linebacker."

Kelly said the recent tabbing of five-stars and the top defensive prospect in the West meant a lot to him.

"When I was younger, I had no idea what the process would be like," said Kelly. "I didn't know where I would rank or if I was that good. Then I went to the Vegas 7v7 and did really well and I started to think I could do well."

Kelly is the No. 12 ranked prospect nationally by Scout.com in the 2016 class.
