Trips being planned for Bragg

Five-star Carlton Bragg is beginning to plan his official visits.

Five-star power forward Carlton Bragg is ready for a big July with the Ohio Basketball Club. Bragg performed well at the adidas Unrivaled Camp, and now he is beginning to get things in place to figure out his recruitment.

“I have been working on my motor and trying to get stronger,” Bragg explained. “I just want to show everybody that I have gotten better and I have improved.”

That high motor and improvement will be on full display for college coaches. Schools such as Indiana, Ohio State, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, West Virginia, and others have been recruiting Bragg for a while.

One of the schools on Bragg the longest has been Illinois, and he says he has a good relationship with the Illini coaches.

“I built a relationship personally with Coach (John) Groce and his staff,” said Bragg. “They have gotten to know me as more than just a player and that is really good.”

Another school that has been in the mix for a long time is Ohio State. The in-state prospect earned an offer from the Buckeyes a while ago and says a visit will happen in the not too distant future.

“Right now we keep in touch a lot,” said Bragg of the Buckeyes. “I should go back down there probably right at the beginning of the school year for another visit.”

Along with Ohio State, Bragg says two other schools are sure to get visits.

“I know for sure I will visit Kentucky and Kansas officially,” noted Bragg. “I have been to some of the other schools like Illinois and Ohio State a few times unofficially so I need to see those other schools.”

When it comes to Kansas, Bragg said, “I love them. Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid went there and I could see myself in that position. They develop players really well and Bill Self is a great coach.”

Kentucky has been seen as a leader in this recruitment since they offered in January, and Bragg likes the Wildcats a lot.

“The way they used Julius Randle, he was just a monster and he developed a lot,” said Bragg. “I just love everything about the program.”

At the moment the plan for Bragg is to officially narrow down his list in August, and then to begin taking his official visits before coming to a decision on his future.
