Midlands Top 150

As always the Midlands Top 150 is packed with strong talent from Texas, but it has never been more apparent than in the Class of 2015, where 14 of the top 15 prospects in the region are from the Lone Star State...

Deep in the Heart...

The stars literally do shine bright deep in the heart of Texas, especially when it comes to football recruiting.

It is easy to see that Texas is producing a level of talent like never before.

Each year it seems the state produces more and more division one talent, leading the nation with 405 signees in the 2014 signing class.

Heading in to the season there are already 375 players reporting division one offers, so it is realistic to believe that the state could top that number come Signing Day 2015.

Leading that impressive list of talent is Scout five-star outside linebacker Malik Jefferson, a 6-foot-3, 2225-pounder, from Mesquite (Texas) Poteet. A terror on the field, who also happens to be a freak off of it. He posted a 4.39 40-yard dash over the summer.

By the Numbers

The first recruit not on the list is the No. 15 rated Drew Lock from Lee's Summit (Mo.) High.

The most stacked position in the Midlands 150 is wide receiver. There are 23 wide receivers listed, 15.33% of the list.

30 of the listed players have yet to make their college commitments.

120 players have already made college commitments.

Of the committed recruits only 6 are committed to non Power 5 conference schools, meaning that 114 are committed to a Power 5 conference.

Size is a premium in college and 131 of the top rated players in the region are listed at 6'0 or taller.

Texas A&M leads all colleges with number of commits in the list. The Aggies hold better than 10% of the list with 16 commits in the Midlands 150.
