, 6-5, 240, Hemet (Calif.) High, took an unofficial visit to UCLA's campus today with his father.
Mr. Dew said the trip went "really well, better than we expected."
While Dew wasn't officially offered a scholarship, the UCLA coaching staff told Dew and his father that "there is a spot for him there," and that he can play anywhere between four to five different positions. According to Mr. Dew, the staff said they hadn't seen anyone who could play that many positions at the next level.
Mr. Dew called UCLA shortly after returning home and he said the coaches told him they had had a long meeting before the Dewss came, and one after they had left.
Mr. Dew said they asked them to call back tomorrow to talk more.
Dew is considered one of the few best quarterback prospects in the class of 2005 in the west, while also able to play defensive end and possibly tight end. He's been offered by Duke, and reportedly by LSU.
