As one of his two official offers (Oregon is the other), the Bruins enjoy the lead with the Ducks in Ketchum's recruitment.
The Bruins became the first school to officially offer the athletic Ketchum, when they extended the offer just before Junior Day.
Oregon followed suit not too long after, and while they are his only two written offers, Ketchum also has verbal offers from Utah, San Jose State, Tulane and Boston College, while also getting attention from Cal, Washington State, Oregon State and Tennessee.
"UCLA and Oregon, though, they're my leaders," said Ketchum.
Ketchum took the low key approach to the summer, choosing to attend only one Football Camp, and for only a day at that.
"I went to one day of the UCLA Camp. I didn't go anywhere else, or the Nike Camps," said Ketchum. "I did do a lot of passing league though."
While at one day of the 4-Day UCLA Camp, Ketchum thought his performance was pretty good.
"It was a fun day. I wasn't nervous when I got there, and I thought I did pretty well. I really like Coach Babers (his recruiter) and working out with him. And Coach Dorrell is a good guy too."
Ketchum previously took an unofficial to Oregon during the Spring, and has stated that he will visit Cal during their Senior Day. But don't expect a commitment from him immediately.
"I'd like to take some trips if I can. I'll wait till I feel right and confident in my decision. It could be before the season, during it or after it, but I'm not going to rush it."
An All-CIF and Ventura County pick as a junior, Ketchum had 41 receptions for 855 yards and 14 touchdowns (a school record), with 40 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 2 sacks and a safety on the defensive side of the ball.
He has a 2.9 GPA and scored a 1090 on his SAT.
