Crunkleton Could Decide Soon

The cover corner propect from Denver (Col.) Mullen, Grant Crunkleton, took his official visit to UCLA last weekend -- and now says he could end his recruitment soon, even with a visit to what he called his favorite school still on the agenda...

UCLA has received commitments from a pair of safeties, but they are still lacking a true cover cornerback in this class, which has made Denver (Colo.) Mullen cornerback Grant Crunkleton, (5-10, 170) a high priority for the Bruins.

Crunkleton took his official visit to UCLA this past weekend, his second official trip, and came away very impressed with the visit.

"It was a great trip. I really connect well with the team," Crunkleton said. "I was at the camp this summer, but this trip was a lot better for me. I got to see more of the campus and do a lot of things I didn't get to at the camp." He was hosted by freshman safety Chris Horton. "Chris was real cool. I got to spend a lot of time with the guys on the team, and thought that was good."

UCLA assistant coach Jon Embree is recruiting Crunkleton. The two knew each other from when Crunkleton used to attend CU camps while Embree was a Buff coach. "Coach Embree is a great guy. I met a lot of the coaches at the camp, like Coach (Gary) DeLoach and Coach (Larry) Kerr, and I got to spend more time with them this weekend," said Crunkleton.

Crunkleton had previously visited Arizona State, and is scheduled to visit Oregon on January 7th, and said a decision will most likely come after the trip. But he did say, it could even come before that. He said, "I kind of want to get my decision out of the way, but I kind of want to see Oregon too."

An anchor in Mullen's secondary, Crunkleton helped lead them to a state championship game. He had 116 tackles this year and 7 interceptions, including a pair in the state championship game.

He has qualified with a 3.0 GPA and scored a 22 on his ACT.
