Amintuanai measured 6-3 (not counting the fro) and weighed 281 pounds at the combine, while running a 5.3 40-yard dash.
He said he was fairly satisfied with his performance, "But I'd like to drop some weight and get a little bit faster," Amituanai said.
In regards to recruiting, there is one college that is standing out for Amituanai. "Arizona," he said. "I'm feeling very strong about them. I love it over there."
When asked why, Amituanai said, "Well, Arizona has offered. They're my only offer. And my uncle (Mike Tuiasosopo) is the d-line coach there. So that will help my decision a lot. He's here at the combine right now. And I went to Arizona and loved it."
When asked what other schools he has heard from that he likes, he said, "I'm getting a lot of letters from Oregon and Oregon State. And UCLA is now showing some interest. Right now I'm just trying to wait for more offers, just to see what's out there."
But Amituanai indicated that Arizona is the team to beat. When asked if his uncle is a particularly strong pull for him, he said, "Oh, yes sir." When asked if Arizona would be tough to beat, Amituanai said, "Real tough to beat. But it depends on who's looking at me and my visits. If I go somewhere else and visit and really like it there I could change my opinion but right now Arizona is the only one to offer."
Could he commit soon to Arizona? "I could, but right now I want to sit and wait on it all. I'll wait on other offers and then hopefully God blesses me with the right decision."
Amituanai said he didn't know his GPA and was still awaiting the result of his first attempt at the SAT.
