Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey defensive end Keith Browner (6-5, 225) is now up to ten scholarship offers and has cut his list to a group of five favorites, all of whom have offered.

“My top five is California, Miami, Michigan, Kansas State and UCLA,” said Browner.

In the last two weeks, at the Los Angeles Scout.com Combine and the Palo Alto Nike Camp, Browner displayed excellent speed coming off the end in the one-on-one drills, while having a body that has a lot of room to develop. Those two performances aided in garning four more offers, from Miami, Kansas State, Michigan and Oregon State.

On Saturday at the Nike Camp, Browner was almost unblockable, blowing by offensive linemen in the one-on-ones, almost before they had a chance to have a shot at him. “I did good all-around,” said Browner, who ran a 4.8 40-yard dash. “Not so much on the testing, but in the one-on-one’s and the drills I did really good.”

Browner is done with combines and camps for the spring, but will be heading to the Miami team camp this summer, while possibly going to the USC camp. He said, “I did enough to prove myself. I’m pretty confident with what’s going to happen for the season.”

He attended both UCLA’s and USC’s Junior Days this spring. “I really liked the staff at UCLA. Coach (Eric) Bieniemy is a nice guy, and has a good knowledge of the game,” Browner said.

He doesn’t have any intention of committing anytime soon, and intends to take all five of his official visits, then decide around January.

Last season, Browner had 48 tackles, 14 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, 4 fumble recoveries and a pair of forced fumbles. His junior year saw Dorsey make it to the City Section Championship Game, where they lost to Birmingham. This year, however, Browner said he expects a better result. “We’re loaded,” he said. “I’m pretty much ready to get to September.”

Browner is holding a 2.89 GPA and scored a 1440 on the new SAT.
