"I didn't go to any camps or combines this spring or summer. So I'm waiting for my first offer, but I've been hearing from a lot of schools," Paysinger said.
"My top schools right now are Cal, Oregon, Wyoming, Washington and UCLA," said Paysinger, who said the Bruins were his childhood favorite.
Paysinger did express a desire to stay on the West Coast, but didn't limit that to Los Angeles.
"I visited UCLA for Junior Day and went to some spring practices and their Spring Game. It's who I pulled for growing up. I like Coach (Eric) Bieniemy and Coach (Karl) Dorrell. But I'm trying to see some other schools, too," said Paysinger.
Paysinger said one place he is near setting up an official visit to is Washington.
"I definitely plan to take all five of my trips, then decide. Most of the schools said they want to watch some of my senior year before they offer," Paysinger said.
Paysinger also plays strong safety but said all the schools he's hearing from like him as a receiver. But if a fulltime focus on safety came to be, he'd not be opposed to playing defense.
"It doesn't matter to me, I'd play both," Paysinger said.
During his junior year, Paysinger had 52 catches for 873 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Academically, Paysinger made the principals honor roll and is holding a 3.0 GPA and scored a 1300 the first time he took the new SAT but will take at least two more times.
