Kevin Love, the 6-9 junior center from Lake Oswego (Oreg.) High, and Kyle Singler, the 6-8 junior forward from Medford (Ore.) South Meford, will visit UCLA unofficially this weekend, according to sources.
Love is the #3-ranked junior in the country and Singler is ranked #6.
Love and Singler are close friends, having played on the same AAU team for a couple of summers. Love, who has indicated that UCLA is at least among his top two schools, while inside sources indicate they're leading for him, has gotten Singler interested in UCLA, and Singler now lists the Bruins among his top two schools, along with Duke.
The pair will visit UCLA when the Bruins play Arizona. They come in Saturday morning, and then leave Sunday morning.
The UCLA student section is planning some "We Want Love" and "We Want Singler" chants for the game.
The visits are particularly significant in the recruitments of each player. After Love visited UCLA in November, UCLA quickly moved to the top of his list. He has indicated that he wants to wait to make his choice until after summer, and would possibly take unofficial visits to North Carolina, which is his other favorite, and Duke when he's back east for an AAU tournament in May. UCLA, of course, would like Love to commit before that.
Singler, who had said for a while that Duke was one of his favorites, also starting listing UCLA on his short list once Love began to talk to him about UCLA after Love's visit. Singler has never visited UCLA, so it's particularly significant that he'll visit this soon, with Love in tow.
Being juniors, neither Love nor Singler can take official visits until their senior seasons.
