James Keefe, the 6-8 power forward from Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita, who is verbally committed to UCLA, gave us his reaction to being named to the McDonald's All-American Team for 2006.

How does it feel to be named to the McDonald's All-American team?

"It's a great honor. I'm honored to be in the same category as so many other great players who have played in the McDonald's All American Game before. I'm also looking forward to playing with this year's team, before we go play against each other in college next year."

Is making the McDonald's team something you've thought about?

"Yes, it's been a goal of mine since I started playing basketball, but more importantly I have focused on developing as a player."

What did you think and what did you do when you first heard you made the team?

"I was so excited about being named, the emotions just ran through me. When it finally sank in, after I got home from school, I went out to dinner with my family to celebrate."

What do you think about representing UCLA at the game?

"Right now, practically anything that I do I represent my high school, Santa Margarita, and UCLA. Basketball is a team sport and I can't wait to get to UCLA and be part of the upcoming dynasty of UCLA basketball."

What do you want to get out of the McDonald's game personally?

"I'm looking forward to enjoying the moment and soaking in the experience."
