Kevin Love, the 6-10 prospect committed to UCLA, has been chosen Player of the Year on the 51st annual PARADE All-America High School Boys Basketball Team.
Last season, Love led the Lakers to their first state championship while setting an Oregon record for most points (813) by a junior.
This year, as a senior, Love had a monumental season, averaging 37 points and 15 rebounds while shooting 67% from the floor. Love ended his high career with 2,628 points, breaking a 50-year-old state record and another record held by former Lake Oswego star Salim Stoudamire, now on the Atlanta Hawks.
The 6-foot-10, 255-pound post just earned another honor: Oregon’s first-ever three-time Player of the Year.
Love headlined the 40-player Parade All-American team selected by coaches, scouts, the media and recruiters across the country. The team includes players from 20 states plus the District of Columbia, with Texas leading the way with four.
