Santa Margarita (Calif.) receiver Gavin Escobar is one of the sleepers we saw emerge this summer, after a good performance at a few camps, including the UCLA camp, and here he is in highlights from his junior year...

Santa Margarita (Calif.) receiver Gavin Escobar is waiting patiently for his first scholarship offer, but he opened some eyes with an impressive summer.

Escobar first stood out at the UCLA 3-Day Camp with his good size and hands, then followed it up by earning MVP honors at the UConn camp. He also camped at Boise State and did well there.

Then he followed it up with a strong performance at the Edison Passing Tournament, where he had the catch of the day.

Escobar stands 6-6, 210, but can easily add 20-25 pounds to play tight end in college. He's got very good hands, runs crisp routes and can play physically.

As a junior, Escobar had 11 receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown.

Here he is in clips from his junior season.
