Joseph Fauria, the sophomore tight end at Notre Dame, will transfer to UCLA.
Fauria got his released from Notre Dame and has told UCLA he intends to transfer to Westwood.
Fauria, the 6-7, 250-pounder, was the #11-ranked tight end in the country when he came out of Encino (Calif.) Crespi in 2008.
He chose Notre Dame over UCLA.
Last season, Fauria played a limited role as a freshman, appearing in just two games and failing to make a catch. But he had a good spring practice for the Irish, moving up to #2 on the depth chart heading into fall practice.
Before he chose to transfer, Fauria was suspended from school at Notre Dame, and the university would only say for "undisclosed reasons." Reportedly, he was suspended for streaking on campus.
Due to transfer rules, Fauria will have to sit out the 2009 season, and then he'll have three years to play three.
