Paul Richardson, the talented wide receiver from Gardena (Calif.) Serra, has some official visits arranged, but said he sees the end of his recruitment on the horizon, and there is a school leading for his services...

Gardena (Calif.) Serra receiver Paul Richardson tells us that a decision on where he'll play his college football might come sooner rather than later.

“I may decide soon, maybe during the season,” said Richardson. “I haven’t gotten any recent offers and all the schools I'm interested in I’ve talked to a lot since September 1st.”

Richardson, the son of a former Bruin player, made an early commitment to UCLA back in the fall of 2008, but then de-committed last spring, saying he wanted to check out all of his options.

The four-star receiver ha been doing just that and looks to do it a little longer, intending to take a few official visits. He has set up one visit and is looking to set up two more.

“I officially have one visit set up for Arizona State for November 28th (when they play Arizona), and I’m working on Cal and Colorado visits,” said Richardson.

Those three schools, plus his father’s alma mater, are the primary schools he’s considering.

“I’m still considering Arizona State, UCLA, Cal and Colorado,” said Richardson.

But the Bruins are still in the lead for him.

“If I had to say I was favoring any school, it would be UCLA,” said Richardson. “The two schools recruiting me the hardest are UCLA and Colorado but I have the best relationships with Cal and UCLA.”

UCLA has the ties to Richardson, with his father playing for the Bruins, being coached by Rick Neuheisel and being teammates with Reggie Moore, the current receivers coach. But Colorado has his former Los Alamitos teammate, Clark Evans, on the roster, and were the first school to offer Richardson last year.

Richardson has fit in just fine at Serra, where he’s part of the best receiving trio in the country. He has 13 receptions for 225 yards and three touchdowns for the Cavaliers.
