And according to his head coach Jerry Haflich, Griffiths is taking the Bruins up on that.
"He committed and he'll be leaving in a week," said Haflich. "His most recent conversation was with Coach (Rick) Neuheisel and he'd previously talked with Coach (Bob) Palcic.
A full qualifier out of Roseville (Calif.) Woodcreek, Griffiths played last fall at American River, but Haflich had a feeling he may only have him for a season.
"It's always something your brace yourself for when you bring in a full-qualifier," said Haflich. "Casey was a JC All-American for us last fall as a guard. He was getting a lot of interest from teams. Kentucky was out here."
Haflich said that Griffiths stands 6-5, 285, and could play either tackle or guard.
"I'm not sure what specifically they want him to play but they want to bring him in as an offensive lineman," said Haflich.
Haflich said that Griffiths will be able to enroll early and has four seasons of eligibility.
"He's got three seasons to play plus a redshirt year," said Haflich. "They had some scholarships open and some injuries so he was able to come in. He was down there last week on his own dime and things picked up from there."
The commitment from Griffiths comes on the heels of the Bruins landing verbals from four offensive linemen in the Class of 2011.
